Sticker Stories!

Do your students L-O-V-E stickers?!
If so....have them create sticker stories!!!
This idea came to me while sitting with my boys!  They were putting stickers on paper....one thing led to another and all of a sudden we were writing a story about the stickers we put on our papers!
My son is in kindergarten, so I had him try and write his story and he had so much fun with it I knew it was something that would help spark some creative writing- with a dash of sight word practice- in my kinders!

I had some left over circle (label) stickers from lollipop favors I made for my son's birthday party and thought....AH-HA...I can make my own stickers!!!
I purchased mine from Amazon- but I am sure you can get them from an office supply store too!
They are Avery 8293.

I made a template, printed the stickers and had my kinders get to work!

Each student had a 'story mat' and a strip of stickers.
This particular set was 'Thanksgiving Table' so they were putting food on the table.
They simply put the stickers on the mat...

and then used the 'picture' they created to write a story!

I mounted the mat and story on 12x18 construction paper...

And it made an AWESOME hallway display!  We had also done some interactive writing that week listed foods we have on our Thanksgiving table!

You can find this set, complete with the sticker template and mat here:
And if you don't have the circle stickers, you can print the template on paper and have students cut/paste.  I also provided the pictures in square form for easier cutting/pasting!

And there is also this set to write stories about The First Thanksgiving:

They were so successful, I got to work over Thanksgiving break and created two Christmas sets and a winter set!

They use the toy/object/person stickers to create and write about a scene from inside Santa's workshop!  They could write about what is being made for them there too!

Santa's Sleigh version:
They will put stickers with toys/objects on them in Santa's sleigh and write about what is in the sleigh- or even what fell out of the sleigh if they choose to put some out of the sleigh!

And the winter set...Snowy Day
This set comes with 3 different story mats so students can decide on what scene they want!  They put the snow fun stickers on the scene and write about what is going on!

I know they are going to have "SNOW" much fun with these sets!
You can find them here:

  1. Hi,
This is really a nice blog by you. I really appreciate your efforts for this blog. Keep it up and keep posting such blogs.
It is seen that most of the students come under anxiety when their exams are near. And sometimes this becomes the reason that students score less grades. They forget all that they learn due to anxiety. This is because most of the parents prefer to take online tuition for class 1 to class 12 for their children that helps their child in clearing all their concepts. This is really important for any student to clear all their doubts in the classroom otherwise those doubts remain unanswered for always.
